May Fourteenth, we'll
never forget,
The pain, the anguish,
that we all met,
Thunderstorms and rain,
a strange display,
Mother Earth cried out,
mourned a soldier that day.
True courage you had,
A life, hard, still
embraced,
Always a smile,
A forever brave face.
The long press of the
bell, the cĂșpla focal,
There are many
different ways we'll remember our uncle,
The aul’ Dub wit, the
nicknames, the jest,
There was always a
laugh, you brought out the best.
A friend to many,
A foe to none,
A hero to all,
A brother, a son.
So sleep now Thomas,
Thomas rest so,
A place in our minds
whenever we speak,
A place in our hearts
wherever we go.
